Senior Process Engineer

QD Vision is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to provide process engineering leadership and support to a cross-functional manufacturing and engineering team developing and scaling up the manufacturing process for quantum dot-based inks. Key personal attributes include high energy and the capability to independently develop and execute process improvements using sound engineering fundamentals. Engineering strength in fluid flow, mass transfer, and heat transfer are desirable.
Responsibilities
• Manufacturing support to scale-up processes for the production of new high value products. Hands-on support to plan, install, de-bug, and qualify sophisticated fluid handling and mixing equipment. Evaluate, recommend, and install equipment to optimize manufacturing processes including capacity, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Analyze the manufacturing process, determine key process parameters, implement data collection methods, and develop and execute statistical methods that continuously improve process control.
• Support the manufacturing team by troubleshooting issues, determine root causes, and develop effective short and long term solutions. Create systems and processes that strengthen the manufacturing team’s capability in terms of key metrics.
• Support new product development activities by designing, planning, and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and recommending and leading projects that effectively meet internal and external customer requests.
Requirements
• BS / MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment as a process engineer. Track record of successfully implementing processes utilizing fluid processing and mixing equipment.
• Project management experience. Demonstrated success in leading projects from conceptual design through installation, start-up, and qualification.
• Outstanding communications skills to effectively lead and manage projects in a team environment.
• Experience with batch formulation of high value fine chemicals is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience with quality and environmental management systems (ISO9001 and ISO14001) a plus.
