Job Description
Product Specialist, Grinding Products
Works with the Director of Mesh & Micron Products to put strategies and tactics in place to achieve the long term business goals. Works with customers to drive sales growth and influence product development decisions. Uses technical background will help the customers understand our products, our production processes and uses for products. Manage the product and customer interface, involving Price Quoting and Pricing Processes, Product availability, Quality, Customer service. Work with manufacturing, production planning, and sales teams to identify opportunities for maximizing value of existing products. Forecast sales volume requirements and participate in the development of a production plan to meet the forecast. Identify opportunities to develop / modify products to add value to customers resulting in increased sales and margin for DI. Troubleshoot operation issues in day to day activities regarding the handling of ceramic/metal powders, milling, mixing and pressing of powders. Supervise operations as well as supervise sales and technology teams to characterize competitive crystals and develop new diamond and CBN crystals using Optical microscopy, SEM, EDX and XRD. Tailor properties, design new crystals and optimize performance by changing pressure and temperature using conventional synthesis and processing of ceramics, metals and composite materials. Explore new technologies and concepts to introduce new products to various applications and customers using microwave processing of diamond and CBN to reduce cycle times.
Education
Must possess a Master’s Degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering
Experience
Must possess Six (6) Months of Experience in the job offered or as a research assistant
Special Requirements
Must possess Six (6) Months of Experience in all of the following:
1. Handling of ceramic/metal powders, milling, mixing and pressing of powders;
2. Optical microscopy, SEM, EDX, XRD;
3. Conventional synthesis and processing of ceramics, metals and composite materials; and
4. Microwave processing of ceramics, metals and composite materials.
