DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for serving food using proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the cafeteria. Operates the cash register.
Essential Functions

*Provides customer service according to department standards.

*Adequately supplies areas and maintains supplies throughout shift.

*Prepares and serves food according to menu. Ensures proper temperature of food and correctly uses utensils and garnishments.

*Cleans work area according to guidelines.

*Accurately prepares menu board.

*Closes cafeteria according to department procedures.

*Operates cash register, calculates charges, and gives correct change and receipt as needed.

*Completes documentation for cash register.

*May act as banquet wait staff for onsite meetings, trainings or events.

*Other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and six months minimum work experience in a food services environment. Must be customer focused and posses: (1) basic familiarity with kitchen and food handling processes and procedures; (2) a valid Los Angeles County Food Handlers Certificate; (3) basic mathematical skills to operate the cash register; (4) interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with all levels of employees and to accurately prepare menu boards and prepare cash register documentation; (5) skills to maintain the flow of work; (6) ability to follow processes and procedures. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work any shift and extended hours as required.
