Job Description

Seneca Resources Corporation, the oil & gas exploration and production subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Company (NYSE: NFG), is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist at its East Division office in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Procurement Specialist will serve as an integral member of the Procurement team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

The Procurement Specialist acts as the purchasing agent to support and coordinate procurement activities between Seneca personnel and suppliers. Key responsibilities include:

•Develop, review, and issue requests for information (RFI) and requests for quote (RFQ), analyze bid proposals, negotiate and structure contracts, and create purchase orders as necessary;
•Gather data and conduct analyses to understand the market fundamentals and supply base for assigned categories, and suppliers;
•Coordinate the development of material, equipment, and service specifications to be used in RFIs and RFPs;
•Assure purchased goods and services are obtained on a timely basis at the lowest total cost of ownership consistent with Seneca's quality and service specifications;
•Perform procurement activities and maintain procurement documentation in a manner consistent with Seneca's policies and procedures;
•Stay apprised of project work in assigned operations area to adequately plan for and execute procurement events for the required materials and services;
•Maintain and regularly update price and contract information for the Preferred Vendor Service Program and for Master Service Agreements;
•Sell or dispose of surplus or scrap equipment and materials.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree (although an MBA with Supply Chain concentration is preferred) from an accredited college or university, preferably in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering plus a minimum of 2 years work experience in a supply chain function, preferably with the natural gas and oil exploration and production industry. . Applicants should have a fundamental understanding of the procurement process and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. The successful candidate also needs the ability to plan and achieve results while effectively managing multiple priorities. Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective negotiation skills and ability to “think on your feet.”
