Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled electrical engineer to consult and interface with customers regarding the integration and implementation of renewable energy sources into their existing building electrical distribution system. Candidates for this position must have 15+ years of previous experience working as an EE with distributed generation in mission critical/ hospital systems, utility sub stations or renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, or fuel cells. Candidates to be considered must have a strong electrical foundation and the ability to interact daily with customers at their site. A LEED AP and/ or PE are highly desired. Travel will be about 10% on the West Coast and relocation is available on a case by case basis for ideal candidates. ResponsibilitiesConduct site visits to identify potential point of interconnect between the renewable energy source and the existing electrical distribution system.Be the electrical expert for client, attend face-to-face meetings and conduct site meetings with other disciplines and client representatives.Identify and coordinate critical loads on the system.Develop electrical one-lines showing existing conditions and interconnection points.Perform voltage drop, fault current, coordination and arc flash studies.Give direction to support staff and quality check others work.Design grounding systemsRequirementsMust have a BSEE with 15+ years of experience with Distributed Generation, Renewable Energies, or Utility substations.Voltage knowledge spanning low voltage to medium voltages (120-480V and 12kV+).A LEED AP is highly desired and PE is also a plus.Knowledge of AutoCAD is required and previous experience with ETAP and/ or SKM software is highly desired.Must be knowledgeable of NEC and NESC codes and regulations.Must be able to travel 40% of the time on the West Coast.BenefitsIndividual performance yearly bonus.Relocation considered for ideal candidates.Comprehensive benefits package.Ability to work for a rapidly growing company with an emerging technology.
