ORACLE DBA MANAGER
The management and leadership position is required to meet future, current and historical demand for end to end database support of our mission critical applications and service improvement initiatives. The core focus for this manager position is to lead and manage the day-to-day activity of the Oracle DBA team to increase operational efficiencies, improve the quality of deliverables and stabilize key applications and services.
This client facing position will assume overall team responsibility for the management, administration, performance, reliability, integrity and security for existing databases. Coordinate with support groups and application managers to ensure database changes are accurately executed and technologies are swiftly and flawlessly migrated into production.
Decisions serve as precedents for future issues. Errors will result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives, incur significant expenses and/or impact current and near term financial performance within Comcast.
Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include managing a team of Oracle DBAs that are accountable for maximizing system availability, optimizing database performance and capacity through new features/technologies, that will ensure conformance to audit and operating standards.
Set strategic vision and direction for operational database policies, procedures on availability, monitoring, replication, backup, recovery, service level agreements, incident/problem management, change management, security and audit.
Lead/facilitate meetings and conduct presentations for both technical and non-technical staff including senior-level management staff; communicate and translate complex technical concepts and proposals into understandable and justifiable business initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

7+ years of extensive experience in ORACLE database administration, availability, performance and capacity management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
7+ years of ORACLE DBA experience
5+ years of experience with proven experience leading a core technical team in a rapid pace, high availability, high transaction workload environment
Strong skills in complex problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, time management, and change management
Excellent strategic and critical thinking
Advance skills in monitoring, metrics and system quality
Knowledge and experience with Operating Systems, Storage architecture, Network topology, Middleware, application servers, Security, Auditing, and compliance.
Expert knowledge of company and organization policies, practices and procedures
Advance presentation, oral and written communication skills
Advanced team and people management skills
Expert knowledge of business operations and supporting interface systems
Expert knowledge and application of process design and redesign skills
Expert knowledge and application of project management skills
Expert knowledge of client /server technology
Expert knowledge of incident, problem and change management best practices (ITIL)
