The Director Financial Planning & Analysis ( FP&A ) is responsible for daily activities related to the following major areas:
financial analysis and internal reporting, including close coordination/input from Regional Company business/finance support personnel and the sales/marketing function; annual budgeting; forecasting/modeling; business warehouse development/reporting and other ad hoc analyses.The Director FP&A will closely interact with the Corporate FP&A function to provide analyses and insight related to Division trends in such areas as:
same-store sales; sales by major product group; pricing; margins; operating costs and capital expenditures.This position will provide leadership within the department for the development and continuous improvement of the planning and forecasting processes.This will require a seasoned professional that is data savvy and must possess exceptionally strong analytical skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following:
Report and analyze financial and operating metrics, such as same-store sales, gross margin, same-store and operating expenses, working capital, asset utilization, capital expenditures, etc.
Work closely with the Regional Company business/finance support teams to better understand historical financial results, trends and validate forecast assumptions.
Provide support and analysis for sales and marketing related to customer price realization (i.e., measurement of periodic price increases and other pricing initiatives designed to enhance profitability).
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with Regional Company business/finance support.
Lead the Division s efforts to improve/utilize data warehouse reporting tools.
Perform extensive financial modeling in support of the Division as well as Corporate FP&A.
Build strong relationships with the Division management teams.
Investigate methods of improving the capabilities of the Division finance organization through changes in structure, technology or method.
Develop the Division finance organization through goal-setting, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within department and Company policy.

The Director FP&A will have established a proven track record of success in prior senior accounting/finance roles.
To be successful, the Director FP&A should possess exceptionally strong analytical skills and a thorough understand of how to leverage computer systems and related tools that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the leadership skills required to drive continuous improvement of processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor s degree in finance or related field, MBA strongly preferred/public accounting/CPA experience a plus.
Minimum of ten years financial reporting/financial analysis experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
Management experience, including people development skills and leadership qualities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle between divisional, local and Corporate management and demands.
Experience with SAP and/or other ERP system development/implementation a plus.
