Job Description
Design new products and improve existing products to strengthen core diabetes drug delivery devices to enable the expansion of diabetes care portfolio. Use expert technical skills in designing products, planning project schedules to develop creative and novel solutions to technical problems in a timely manner. Lead R&D product development activities including conceptualization, design verification, validation and launch strategy. Create drawings and solid models using CAD packages including SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Optimize product design and manufacturing processes to increase versatility or reduce cost. Apply advanced engineering techniques including Computer Aided Engineering and Finite Element Analysis techniques to solve complex technical problems. Devise test methods including new fixtures; implement and validate test methods to generate and verify product specifications. Create and execute test protocols to produce reports for the Design History File. Evaluate competitive products, processes and/or new trends to advise and devise improvements to new/existing product.
Assess Design feasibility and verify product functionality and/or confirm product capabilities.
Write software programs for measurement and automation. Optimize resources required for tests using Design of Experiment methodology. Analyze test results using statistical tools to provide effective feedback for design improvements. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Field and 5 years of experience in job offered or 5 years experience as an Mechanical Engineer or any other job title researching and developing orthopedic implant removal instruments- i.e. ‘stripped screw removal kit’ and ‘broken bone screw removal kit’ devised to help surgeons remove damaged fasteners during surgery.
