Summary of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit NurseCapital Nursing Solutions' excellent compensation and benefits program awaits the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse candidate seeking a 13-Week Travel Contract. Pediatric intensive care unit nurses manage the care of infants, children or adolescents experiencing life-threatening problems requiring complex assessment, high intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. PICU nurses also provide education and emotional support to patients and their families. PICU nurses should display a gentle and calm disposition to provide reassurance to young patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the infant or child's immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by client facility's policies, procedures or protocols.Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by the infant or child's condition and/or the client facility's policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.Develops plan of care that is individualized for the infant or child reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the infant or child and his/her family.Other Applicable Tasks and Responsibilities.
