Overview:Review assigned test plan and test procedures for accuracy and preparation, schedule appropriate test equipment, and establish start/completion test plan dates. Prepare automotive connector assemblies for testing, set-up electronic/mechanical test equipment and establish fixturing for connector assemblies. Perform electrical, mechanical and environmental tests as detailed in test specifications. Determine reason for irregular data by reviewing testing procedures, verifying equipment accuracy, review testing technique, correct any problems and utilize statistical methods. Technician is accountable for accuracy of measured data. Summarize test information in the form of technical reports utilizing Excel and WORD. Also reviewing test reports for data accuracy. Perform Failure Analysis with written summaries. Train personnel in the performance of connector reliability testing. Work with test engineers, internal and external customers to develop, execute and document test programs. Support laboratory accreditation and lab safety effortsResponsibilities & Qualifications:Minimum requirement A.A.S. Degree Electronic Technology or related field with minimum of two years experience in electronics testing. Solid understanding of series / parallel circuits and power calculations. Understanding of schematics and DC circuitry. Knowledge of interconnect connector assemblies and automotive hybrid-electric high voltage/current connector assemblies plus experience in electrical, environmental, and mechanical testing. Skilled in Statistics and Data Correlation. Solid work ethic, takes the initiative to perform without much supervision. Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills are required. Understanding of good laboratory practices is essential. Must have very good personal computer skills. Knowledge of ISO/IEC Guide 17025 a plus.
