Summary of Surgical Technician Capital Allied Solutions' excellent compensation and benefits program awaits the Surgical Technician candidate seeking a 13-Week Travel Contract. Surgical technicians assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses or other surgical personnel. They may also be referred to as scrub or operating room technicians. A surgical technician's primary responsibilities include preparing the operating room, ascertaining that all equipment is working properly and preparing the patient for surgery. They may also transport patients, observe vital signs, check charts and assist the surgical team in dressing for the surgery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare the operating room by setting up the equipment and sterilizing tools that are necessary for the operation.Prepare the patient for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting areas of operation.Proper care for and dispose of times that require lab work. Record all necessary data required for lab samples and properly prepare all specimens for examination by the lab.Assist with transport of the patient back to the recovery room and assist making the patient comfortable.Other Applicable Tasks and Responsibilities.
