Job Description

Job SummaryAcquires sales skills and product knowledge to perform entry level sales activities at the store level (merchandising, displays, set-ups, order writing, distribution, stock management) or to support account sales (preparing background sales call information/research and follow up), Typically calls on and makes recommendations to grocery supervisors and small, local customers or works with experienced sales representative on account or operator sales within assigned geography. May call on prospects to enhance business development.
* Please note that this position can be located across the United States.Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for representing and merchandising assigned products in retail grocery stores within a specified geographic area.
- Accountable for specific merchandising and store shelving activities.
- Ensures all new product authorizations and core extensions are positions on retail shelf with appropriate timing, space, facings and targeted location.
- To improve distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing.
- To provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in specific related retail store selling and recall activities on an exception basis as directed.
- Prepared information/project tracking reports in a timely manner as required by Company.
- Communicates regularly and effectively to inform supervisor of marketplace activities issues and opportunities.
- To develop self and othersPosition Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Open to December 2011 or May 2012 graduates.
- Sales planning and sales execution experience required.
- Knowledge of PC tools and applications.
- Must have strong negotiation skills.
- Must be capable of effectively interpreting and using multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.
- Effective communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Demonstrates initiative and perseverance.
- Evidence of good judgment and problem-solving skills. Offers clear leadership potential
- This position is located in cities across the USA. Candidate must be open to relocation.
