To post a resume, log in and then select the 'Resume Builder' link from the left of the page. You'll be guided through a series of steps that will allow you to build and store your resume.
You can store up to five resumes in the system, but only one will be active (viewable by prospective employers) at any time.
America's Job Exchange has the following search options:
Quick Search: Based on job categories, keywords, and location; this is available on the Home page.
Advanced Search: Based on detailed criteria including location, education, experience, last updated, salary, job title, military, and job number. You can access the Advanced Search page by clicking the 'Advanced Search link' in the Search panel on the Home page.
You can get notified about new jobs by building job scouts. Job scouts are the search criteria that can be saved by you and are then run automatically to post the relevant jobs in your mailbox.
To build a job scout:
Select the JOB SCOUTS link from the left of the page.
Click the NEW JOB SCOUT button and enter your search criteria.
At the bottom of the page, select the frequency (to specify how often you want to receive this scout update in your email).
In addition, should you come across any postings that are not legitimate or fit schemes described in this link, please use the Flag Job button at the bottom of every job posting. Each flagging will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will only be looked at if reasoning is provided. If there is no reasoning provided, we will just view the flagging as a mistake and do a quick-scan for the posting.
There could be several reasons for not getting the job scout results:
Your search criteria might be incorrect.
To check, select JOB SCOUTS from the left of the page, and open your job scout by clicking the appropriate scout name. Verify that the search criteria are correct, and that the Run Scout box is set to the correct timeframe.
The email provided might be incorrect.
To verify, select ACCOUNT INFO from the left side of the page, and then click Update Registration. Ensure that the email address where your scouts should be delivered is entered correctly in the Email field (Note that this email address may not necessarily be the same address as your username).
The scout might have gone "inactive."
Normally, when a scout is active, there is a bull's-eye icon following its title. If this icon is not there, it means that the scout has gone inactive. To reactivate your scout, click the scout title, scroll to the bottom and click Save. Resaving the scout should make it active again.
There might be no new results for your search.
Scouts only include results that were not in the previous scout --- and no scout gets delivered if there are no new results.

When you register as an employer with America's Job Exchange, your company information goes through a short approval process to ensure that the information provided is correct and legitimate. This process typically takes one to three business days; during which time you will be able to log in and search for resumes, but not build jobs or collect contact information.
Jobs that are posted online are active for 30 full days before they are suspended. Jobs that are posted using the bulk submission (PI) process will vary, please contact your sales representative to discuss the length of time they are active.
At times, when you cut and paste NAICS code into its box, an extra character might carry over to the document, such as a space before or after the code. Please check for an extra space by moving the cursor with the arrow keys to the left and right. If there is a space, delete it.
If this didn't work, check the NAICS code to ensure that the code has six characters. If it does have six characters and no spaces, try using the next closest code that best fits your business.
After you register with America's Job Exchange (AJE), you can utilize the PI Batch process.
To sign up for Public Interface or just to learn more about it, click the following link from the left of the My Account screen:
"Are you interested in learning more about posting your job by using our bulk submission interface? Find out more!"
The AJE Public Interface (PI) Job Submission Method screen appears.
In order to set up a PI account, you need to have a basic account with America's Job Exchange.
To sign up for PI, follow the steps listed below:
Log into your existing account and click the link within the red box titled 'Are You', as highlighted in the screenshot below:
Click Yes if this information is what you seek. Then, another screen appears, asking for information on who would be the technical contact and PI contact for this account.
Fill up the contact information, and then click Save. A statement appears with the text: Your PI registration information has been accepted and will be forwarded to America's Job Exchange Service Center for confirmation and approval. This process usually takes approximately three business days.
Once the process is complete, the PI or technical contact will receive a call with the PI password. The PI username will be the same as the username for America's Job Exchange login.
At America's Job Exchange, we believe in keeping personal information such as Social Security Numbers completely private. We never ask for them and we do not want them listed in any field within our site. Your Social Security Number is your own private information and can be used by other parties to commit identity theft against you.

An error occurs while copying files to test when the expected files are not in place before choosing this option. This could happen if files are either not uploaded on to your FTP account or are named incorrectly.
Please ensure that the files pi_jobs.dat and pi_offices.dat are uploaded on to your FTP account, and are named correctly (naming is case-sensitive).
Please follow the tips listed below for successful uploading of your PI files:
All ftp user names must be in all lower case, but passwords can be mixed case.
Ideally the files should be in ASCII (UNIX) format, although ASCII (MS-DOS) will work also. ASCII (Macintosh) does not work properly.
PI files must have double quotes around all fields, even around empty ones.
Double quotes in PI files are only allowed in a field when preceded by a backslash (\); otherwise a parsing error will occur.
Test files are run periodically, usually on a five-minute interval. Production runs start at midnight.
If you are signed up as a Federal Contractor, your account is OFCCP compliant. However, we currently have no mechanism to record resumes received or searched on our website.
America's Job Exchange will continue to offer services that help employers meet various regulatory requirements such as OFCCP and EEOC. The team behind America's Job Exchange has more than a decade of experience providing national labor exchange services that support government requirements, and the America's Job Exchange site is committed to maintaining that tradition.
The updated regulations for compliance have been released and we are working to keep America's Job Exchange users updated with the latest information. Simply go to the Federal Compliance link on the Employer's page to see the latest information.
Select the checkbox beside the job(s) you wish to delete.
Click the blue Delete button below the job listings.
If you are certain this is the file you wish to delete, click Delete once again.
We also have an Archive option. This option may be helpful if you think you may ever need to use this posting as a reference. To archive, follow the same steps listed above, the only difference being in the last step where you need to click the Archive button instead of Delete.
You can use the AJB username and password to log into America’s Job Exchange (AJE) for the first time. Upon login, you will be directed to create a new username and password, and will then have access to all your data.
You would need to use the new user information for future login.

Log into America's Job Exchange (AJE) using your old AJB username and password. You will be prompted to fill out a form for updating your user information.
Enter the required user information. This completes the conversion of your data from AJB to AJE.
To view your jobs, log into AJE using new user information, and then select Active or Archived link in the JOB MANAGER section of the Employer page.
When you registered, you provided an email address for your username. In order to verify your information, we sent a verification email to that address containing a link. Once you click the link, you will be able to log in.
If you did not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam filter.
When you click this link, http://www.americasjobexchange.com/password, you will be directed to enter the email address that you use as your username. A new temporary password will be e-mailed to that address, and you will be able to log in.
Currently, the system does not allow you to change your username. If you would like to change the email address to which scouts are sent, click the Account Info link and select Update Registration.
America's Job Exchange is a comprehensive career management portal designed to "Change Your World" when it comes to finding a new job or filling a position. Developed by the same team that created the first Internet-based job portal, America's Job Exchange offers trusted, comprehensive, and free career management services to job seekers, employers, and states.
America's Job Exchange is easy to use - whether you are looking for a job or posting one. It's a comprehensive job site - providing job seekers with thousands of jobs to search from in government, non-profit, and large and small employers locally and nationally; and offering employers access to candidates across a wide range of functional areas, industries, and geographic locations. And, it's a trusted website- providing genuine opportunities for job seekers and helping make the hiring process smoother and easier for employers.
America's Job Exchange is NaviSite's successor to America's Job Bank (AJB) but it is not a continuation of AJB as it differs from AJB in a number of ways:
America's Job Exchange is run by NaviSite for profit. AJB was run by NaviSite under an agreement with the State of New York and with funding from the U.S. Government.
While both AJB and America's Job Exchange use the same underlying software, the hardware on which they operate and the URL's where they are located are different. Earlier, NaviSite had a contractual right to the software that was used to run AJB but the hardware on which it ran and the URL's which were used for AJB were not the property of NaviSite.
America's Job Exchange and AJB both work in cooperation with a number of states. Although AJB had participation from a majority, but not all, states, those agreements did not automatically carry forward to America's Job Exchange. We continue to work with states to gain their participation in America's Job Exchange and have approximately 10 states signed with us to date. We are in discussion with several other states as well.
It is worth noting that the government has not named any job site as the official replacement for AJB.
PI account help is encouraged on most issues but with troubleshooting processing errors, an email containing error information can help us troubleshoot where the error occurs. With this we can either email the next steps to take or call you as soon as we have an answer.
PI transmission reports are changeable and encouraged to be changed within your account. Any other report previously offered or currently not offered should be asked for through the Customer Care.
We do not support or troubleshoot third party applications created to assist in posting jobs via PI. Please refer to the vendor for support. We will help with any general FTP transmission problem.
If you have problems accessing your basic account, please be ready to verify information related to the account. Only people who can confirm this information or listed as a company contact will be assisted concerning account access and postings.
If you need still need assistance, please call 1-866-926-6284
