Job Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist III is responsible for leadership and commitment to the achievement of program quality performance, process improvement and data management. The Quality Assurance Specialist III is accountable to the Quality Assurance Manager and the Data Manager for the following:
•Directly support project-specific quality assurance activities and services in accordance with business or contractual requirements;
•Organize and conduct quality oversight activities, of programs, processes, and quality affecting items and services;
•Reviews plans, procedures, procurement documents and reports to ensure QA program elements are included when needed.
•Identify and ensure quality requirements are flowed within the organization;
•Performs duties associated with software quality control, subcontractor evaluations and performance measurement;
•Assists in administration of non-conformance and corrective action reporting system in areas of assigned responsibility;
•Reviews data (environmental and GIS) for quality assurance and ongoing quality control;
•Works with GIS, hydro-modeler, chemists and other professionals to aid in data analysis and result reporting;
•Produces specialized data tables for documents by querying the database and finding/correcting data problems;
•Develop, review and manage environmental monitoring and other data and databases;
•Performs statistical analysis of environmental and other data; and
•Supports end-users on database user interface application.

Job Requirements:
•BS degree or equivalent in science, engineering, environmental science, or appropriate related field and 7 or more year’s experience;
•Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, objectivity, organizational skills and writing skills;
•Ability to develop and lead projects, including defining scope, objectives and methods;
•Experience in environmental field or laboratory setting with knowledge in applying scientific principles and documentation practices and in addressing regulatory compliance requirements.
•Experience in the Audit/Assessment process, to include planning, implementation, reporting, corrective action, and corrective action verification and closure;
•Knowledge of principles, concepts, techniques in environmental and other sciences and data/database management;
•Knowledge and ability to develop and apply quality and data management principles as related to environmental characterization and remediation activities;
•Experience with SQL; and
•Proficiency in MS Office applications, ESRI (GIS) and basic computer skills.
•Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Light Work Category - Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. The employee exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
