Sales Tax Manager

JUST4U of New Jersey has a Financial Services client that is looking to hire a Sales Tax Manager. Manager must Prepare and file property tax returns. Update PTMS based on reconciled assessments. Analyze proposed assessments and make decisions on appealing valuations. Ensure all property tax bills are paid before the deadline to avoid penalties, interest or other additional expenses. Review and resolve property tax correspondence when received from the taxing authorities. Search for ways to reduce property tax liability through tax exemptions, abatements, fixed asset duplication/errors, assessment notices, and changes in the law. Keep abreast of tax law changes and interpretations as they affect the company and make proper application. Research property tax and/or case law to support compliance procedures. Provide tax-related service to others as needed and promote teamwork within the tax department. Keep up with innovations and improvements in taxes, computers, software, and other skills through continuing education and personal development efforts in order to continually add value to the company. Support audit group when documentation and/or support is requested. Special projects as assigned by management.
