Job Description

SUMMARY

Teach For America is seeking a chief information officer to lead the Information Technology team. This individual will set the vision and direction for both short and long term planning, implementation and operations of technology systems to improve service quality, performance, innovation, and strategic alignment across a high growth social enterprise with more than 1600 staff members and 45+ regional locations. The CIO will lead a team of 140+ full time staff and manage directly a senior team of six vice presidents who lead teams in technology operations, solutions, strategy lead the integration and execution of the organization's technology strategy in alignment to broader organizational goals (short term and long term); oversee the development of a scalable operations infrastructure that supports data and communications reliability, integrity, and security; oversee the application development process and its alignment to organizational priorities; and oversee the professional development and experience of the talented and diverse technology team. These activities may include, but are not limited to:

* Identify Teach For America's technology needs now and in the future, and create the plan to ensure alignment of current systems, tools and processes with current and future needs
* Ensure the technology projects achieve success through adding value to the organizations strategic priorities
* Evaluate technology investment choices, with particular attention to prioritizing technology investments across the organization and assessing the benefits of adopting in-house vs. outsourced technology solutions
* Partner with, and advise functional leaders to ensure that their technology needs are met in a proactive, efficient, and straightforward manner
* Lead the prioritization of the software development pipeline with the senior leadership of the IT team in collaboration with project partners from across the organization
* Foster a professional development environment that is conducive to staff growth, satisfaction, opportunity, and collective impact
