Job Description
Position Summary:The Export Traffic Coordinator II is responsible for daily process of international orders utilizing the Vastera/Trasphere system; in charge of maintaining US Export compliance, as well as, uphold commercial requirements and best practices. Responsible for evaluating and correcting daily compliance issues with EPCI, RPL, Embargo, ITAR and US Export License Screening for international flagged orders. Product review and classification (HTS Code & ECCN); while working with vendors, consultants and intra-company personnel as required, supporting export compliance product classification or regulatory issues. Responsible for up-dating various Vastera databases (specifically Product and Partner databases). Responsible for receiving and maintaining commercial data and performing daily audits to ensure complete compliance with government and export regulations. Identify Vastera software non-performance issues and coordinates with IS&S for corrective action. Responsible for creating commercial documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Valuation Statements) for all international orders. Obtain country of origin information when required. File the proper export declaration (EEI) via the Automated Export System (AES) adhering to US Law. Support export compliance training and audit programs. Assist export compliance specialist when required. Preparation of shipping paperwork necessary for carrier pickup when required; including Dangerous Goods Certificates (DGD). Interfaces with Customer Service, Corporate Global Trade Compliance, CCG Regulatory Affairs, and Export Packing function. Externally interfaces with Department of Census and Customs. Maintain freight carrier relationship; including audits, rate quotes, and claims. Prepare export packing and freight quotes as required.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Comprehensive knowledge of US Export Compliance Law
Thorough knowledge of Vastera Tradesphere software
Familiar with export documentation requirements
Strong PC skills
Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
Knowledge of Fisher Mainframe computer system
Excellent communication skills-oral and written
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
