ROXY'S DINER SINGING DJ/HOST

Summary:
Performs disc jockey duties and acts as the restaurant's emcee. Calls singers to perform and monitors business flow to determine when to switch from live entertainment to CD/MP#/digital music. Provides singing entertainment for guests. Greets guests and escorts them to the appropriate table. Assists in preparing Roxy's for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant.

Essential Functions:

- Operates restaurants sound system and selects songs for play
- Changes music selections based upon audience mood, participation and reaction
- Calls entertainers to perform based upon availability, rotation and business flow, as well as audience mood and reaction
- Interacts with guests in a very energized mood to solicit requests, sparks enthusiasm and appeals to the crowd
- Entertains and involves the guests with activities such as hula hooping, limbo and dancing during group numbers
- Follows opening and closing procedures including unlocking and setting up the music system, testing system components and setting up and taking down the staff picture display at the outlet entrance
- Assists in dress and singing rehearsals for new group and individual numbers
- Takes photos of new staff members and updates photos of current staff as required
- Greets guests as they come to the restaurant, takes their seating requirements and escorts the guests to the appropriate table for their group and in the correct server's section
- Assists guests with any questions regarding hours of operation, menus or reservations
- Ensures that there is an adequate supply of menus and that menus are clean and updated
- Clears and cleans tables to ensure the table is ready for the next guest and transports bus trays to the back-of-the-house for cleaning
- Re-sets tables with placemats, silverware and napkins for the next guest
- Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications/Requirements:

- High school diploma
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- One to three years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of and ability to operate sound system
- Ability to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written form

- Bending, kneeling, walking, continuously standing and working indoors (more than 75% of the time)
- Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical)
