Job Description

Overview/Purpose of Position
A Research Manager is responsible for designing, analyzing and managing a broad range of custom research projects and/or tracking programs in a fast-paced environment. Incumbents support all aspects of a research project, including proposal design, fielding and analysis, client management and budget management.


Responsibilities

Work with new and existing clients, develop client relationships
Identify and assist in development of new research opportunities for new and existing clients
Contribute to consultation with clients to define and understand overall business objectives of the research
Prepare basic proposals; write large sections and/or first draft of complex proposals with moderate oversight
Prepare project pricing for projects
Manage complex projects from concept through final presentation
Oversee coordination of fieldwork, troubleshoot and quality check initial and final survey data with minimal oversight
Act as a primary contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
Set & manage client expectations related to specific deliverables with moderate oversight on complex studies; minimal oversight on basic studies
Outline implementation of a project plan for complex studies with minimal oversight
Design and field complex surveys with moderate oversight
Evaluate sample representativeness, contribute to identifying weighting targets
Perform complex analysis, including multivariate analysis
Develop an analytic plan for complex studies with moderate oversight, minimal oversight for basic studies
Write report with minimal oversight, including executive summary, conclusions and business implications
Understand and monitor project budgets and timelines, investigate issues and recommend appropriate action
Participate in and/or present aspects/sections of report at client presentations
Manage and/or mentor junior staff


Qualifications

Bachelors degree, Masters preferred
4+ years of research/project management experience
Solid statistical analysis skills and advanced statistical software knowledge
Detail orientated and ability to multi-task
Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently, self-directed, strong work ethic and adherence to deadlines
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Advanced applied statistical analysis skills
Statistical software knowledge
Ability to negotiate/consult with clients
