Job Description

John Middleton Company's role is to responsibly and effectively develop, manufacture and market superior branded cigars and pipe tobacco for adult tobacco consumers. We are currently seeking highly qualified Electronic Technicians to join our manufacturing facilities in Limerick and King of Prussia, PA. Specific accountabilities include: Performing installation of new machinery and equipment. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic systems for all production equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, determining faulty wiring, inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery, conveyors, etc. Conserving electrical maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job tasks. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations. Working in a team based environment and actively pursuing process improvements. Troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical control systems. Leading and helping implement electrical upgrade projects. Repairing/replacing electronic motor drive technologies, including servo-motors and step-motors, encoders, tachometers, electronic mechanical brakes and clutches, and VFD drives. Installing, troubleshooting and repairing relay and PLC controlled equipment. Utilizing knowledge of skills and tools for mechanical, electrical maintenance and repair. Leading and/or Cross-Training electrical troubleshooting training for mechanics. Redlining drawings and updating documents. Assisting electrical engineers with electronics upgrades and project work. Working with process control engineers/electrical engineer s to ensure process optimization.Qualified applicants will: Be at least 18 years of age. Be eligible to work in the U.S. and for the Altria family of companies. Have the ability to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift. Have an Associate's degree in electronic technology or a closely related technical field or a combination of education and experience which may include skilled trade programs, military training or other training as applicable (i.e. 4 year apprenticeship at the State or Local level; 5 years of experience in the electrical field, with 2 years in a manufacturing environment; or 10 years of experience with no proof of an apprenticeship training). Be proficient in multiple skill clusters including a thorough understanding of electrical/electronic controls, PLC's, mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. Have the ability to operate manufacturing equipment. Have a high degree of initiative and conscientiousness. Have the ability to help our team drive continuous improvements and innovation. Have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Have knowledge and use of Electrical Safe Work Practices (EWSPs). Have knowledge and understanding of Siemens or Rockwell Automation software. Have knowledge of AutoCAD electrical. Have experience with Profibus, Devicenet, Ethernet IP, and Micomotion calibrations software. Be able to lift 20lbs. Be able to use platform and scissor lifts.
