This position within Symantec's Managed Security Services (MSS) development team focuses primarily on creating and maintaining software that enables 24x7 real-time network security analysis by the Symantec MSS operations center. Specifically, the work involves leading, designing and implementing complex solutions analyzing huge data volumes using C#, Microsoft SQL Server and other advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server database programming as well as development of C#/Microsoft .NET applications. In-depth knowledge of databases and SQL Server is essential, including advanced TSQL concepts and procedures, debugging, performance optimization and schema design.Qualifications

Must have success factors:
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 6+ years of object oriented programming experience, preferably in C#
* 6+ years designing and programming relational databases, preferably SQL Server (2005 or 2008)
* Strong problem solving/analytical skills
* Proven ability to lead technical efforts involving multiple developers and mentor others
* Ability to work independently on, prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects.
* High attention to detail
* Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
* Customer focus
* Able to rapidly learn new technologies
* Solid written and verbal communications

Experience in the following are essential:
* Designing data models
* Designing and writing complex business logic in SQL stored procedures
* Query Tuning and Optimization

Experience in any of the following would be a huge plus:
* SQL Server CLR
* SQL Server Integration Services
* SQL Server Analysis Services
* Replication
* Service Broker
* Mirroring

Other beneficial skills:
* Knowledge of or experience with columnar databases
* Knowledge of or experience programming the FICO Blaze business rule management system
