Job Description

HP Post-Sales Storage Engineer - requirements gathering, design, implementation, delivery guidance
Overview:
Looking for IT Engineers who would support the HP ServiceOne program just launched in a post-sales environment at an existing or future client site. These engineers will be involved in technology installation and start up and need to understand HP technology including servers, storage, and networking. HP certifications are preferred and listed below.

Job Purpose:

The IT Engineer designs high value services solutions that solve complex business problems, address articulated requirements and create efficiencies for clients. Provides consultative input and leverages client relationships during the selling process to identify, qualify and close new client engagements. Participates in enhancing current or building new practice offerings to include in the services solutions portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Collaborates with client and practice team members to move the engagement from a solutions design concept through architectural definition to implementation of the services solution.
-Delivers a high value services solution to the client on time, within budget, and meeting all quality and solution design specifications.
-Provides services solutions implementation and delivery guidance.
-Develops an understanding of client business needs, current industry environment and market solution trends to contribute to the refinement of current or build of new practice offerings.
-Cultivates client relationships and develops the practice reputation as a leading edge provider of client services solutions.
-Creates and/or identifies demand for new and additional services solutions engagements.

Knowledge and Skills:

Absolutely must have a strong knowledge of HP hardware and software.
Absolutely must have a strong knowledge of technologies like Servers, virtualization, networking, storage, security

-ASE - HP BladeSystem Solutions (2010)
-ASE - Specialty in HP ProLiant Servers c-Class Blades (2006) (transitional)
-ASE - HP BladeSystem (2007)
-ASE - HP BladeSystem (2009)
-ASE - HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers (2010)
-ASE - Network Infrastructure (2011) (active)
-ASE - HP Networking (2010)
-HP AIS - StorageWorks Integration (2011)
-AIS - HP StorageWorks (2008)
-AIS - Specialty in HP StorageWorks P4000 SAN Solutions (2009)
-AIS - HP Integrity Server Systems (2006)
-AIS - HP Integrity BladeSystem (2008)
-HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers (2007)


Work Experience:

Typically a minimum of 4 - 6 years of successful experience in consultative services delivery and advancement in client facing roles. Demonstrated competency in practice discipline. Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining relationships with clients. Relevant consulting, fee based services experience.

Education and Certification(s):

BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or a related field or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience. MS/MBA helpful.
