PSYCHIATRIST - MEDICAL DIRECTOR

MEDICAL DIRECTOR (PSYCHIATRIST), ROCKY MOUNT NC

An immediate opportunity exists for a MEDICAL DIRECTOR in the area of Rocky Mount, N.C.

Primary responsibilities include:

-Planning & directing all aspects of organizational policies and programs

-Developing strong strategic clinical relationships w/medical staff

-Ensuring clinical program compliance

-Identifying & implementing models of care for the age and diagnosis specific populations served

-Supervise, monitor & direct clinical staff

-Developing & implementing internal policies & procedures for admission, reevaluation, transfer & discharge; delivering high-quality, medically necessary services & treatments in compliance w/NC Medical Board & Psychology Board requirements; serving as active member of leadership team

-Participation in Quality Assurance Committee, etc.

-Minimum 2 years training & experience diagnosing, treating & evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of the age & diagnosis specific population to be served by the Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency (CABHA), including face-to-face treatment & interventions as demonstrated by a caseload of individuals w/ primary mental health or substance abuse disorder diagnoses (experience attesting to the medical necessity of MH/SA services does not constitute direct service);

-American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology certification (or American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology eligibility) MD or DO licensed in the state - OR physician licensed in the state w/ASAM or ABAM certification if the CABHA delivers substance abuse services only (if the CABHA delivers services other than substance abuse services the physician must meet the exception criteria outlined in Subparagraph (a)

-of this rule OR upon approval by the Director of DMA or his designee in an exception process as set out in Rule .0407 of this Subchapter a physician (MD or DO) licensed in the state who is board certified or eligible by the American Board of Family Physicians in General Family Practice or the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine or the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics. MUST meet ALL requirements of 10A NCAC22P .0403 Medical Director Requirements for a Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency.
