Overview:

Position Summary

The Tax Manager will oversee the completion of the tax compliance; review the work papers and federal and state tax filings. In addition the Tax Manager is responsible for the analysis and review of accounting activity to determine proper tax treatment for FAS 109. Assisting with state and local audits.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.

Review of estimated payments and related state vouchers.

Review of general ledger accounts and tax adjustments for Corporate Income Tax Return, state and local income tax returns, and franchise tax returns (Federal, State, and local)

Review and timely file all Federal, State, local and Franchise Tax returns

Prepare reconciliations to tie the general ledger and the tax return

Assistance with tax audits and lead certain state audits.

Ad Hoc research questions

Review of Quarterly Income Tax Provision (FAS 109)

Prepare supporting documentation for the tax return and provision

Provide State and Federal legislation updates to the tax department

Respond to state and IRS notices

Review Account Reconciliations, True Up Tax Accounts i.e.; Franchise

Other miscellaneous tax items as a result of new company integration

Primary Outcomes

1.

Review of tax work papers for the filing of the corporate tax returns and review of tax returns.

2.

Preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions for the financial statements.

3.

Review quarterly estimated taxes and response to tax notices.

4.

Assistance with audits and lead certain state audits.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Education Preferred

Master of Taxation

Experience Required:

Minimum of five to seven years in Public Accounting or six to seven Years of Private Industry Experience

Experience Preferred:

N/A

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

Working knowledge of Federal and multi-state income tax concepts, working knowledge of Oracle, OneSource and Tax research Software a Plus/Strong Analytical, Organizational & Interpersonal Skills, familiarity with the preparation of Form 1120, US Corporation Income Tax Return and state income tax returns.
