Our Energy professionals focus on issues across the entire energy value chain including renewable, climate change, energy efficiency, demand response, emerging technologies, generation, resource procurement, transmission, markets, performance improvement, fuel sourcing, rates and regulation. Responsibilities: The position is for an Associate Director as part of the Clean Technology service team within NCI's Energy Practice, who would focus on energy storage technologies, markets and business strategy. Primary focus would be on stationary energy storage for utility applications, but should also support projects related to electric vehicles. Technologies of primary interest to the service team include all major types of energy storage technologies, such as lead acid batteries, Li Ion batteries, flow batteries, fly wheels, super capacitors, and compressed air energy storage. A broad understanding of advanced and emerging storage technologies is highly desirable. In addition to energy storage, a strong candidate will have a broad understanding of renewable and non renewable electricity generation, smart grid, transmission, distribution, integrative communications, and alternative fuel transportation solutions. The position will be part of a team that assists leading energy related organizations (including utilities, energy companies, government organizations and equipment suppliers) create innovation and exploit technology across the full spectrum of their activities, from setting strategy to developing and deploying cutting edge products and applications. The Energy Storage Associate Director will be a key point of contact for public sector clients in the Eastern US and will lead detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy related activities; perform technology assessments; statistical and economic analyses; data collection and spreadsheet creation and management; prepare reports, presentations and other documents for clients; present results of assigned tasks and analyses to clients; interview business managers, technology experts and public policy officials to support client projects; and work effectively with colleagues and client staff as the leader of a project team.
