We have an immediate need for a Networking Specialist with CCNP Certification or higher for permanent employment in Charlotte.

Job Descriptiion:

The Network and Security Specialist is a permanent position responsible for the ongoing support of the organization's LAN and WAN networks. The successful candidate will possess a high level of specialized knowledge in multiple areas of the company's environment, and is expected to be a key contributor in the development of long term IT plans.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support and maintain Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewall, VPN, Packetshaper, and Network Access Control and configurations
Monitor and analyze network performance to identify deficiencies and recommend and implement solutions for improvement
Optimize all aspects of network performance including traffic shape, inter-site performance and security
Be able to optimize network design including sub-netting and routing protocols Troubleshoot network problems with internal and external users when appropriate Research new network related technology trends and make recommendations or develop plans for the future of the enterprise network infrastructure
Evaluate associated risks and threats, perform perimeter testing and provide remediation options
Commitment to special projects and other duties as assigned when needed

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
Cisco CCNP or higher Certification required
ASA Firewall experience is a must
A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent in experience, certifications, and education in a related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of Information Technology experience supporting medium to large scale computer networks
Prior experience supporting a school, university, or IT training environment is desired, but not required
Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking products including Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA\VPN
Working knowledge of networking topologies, routing and switching protocols, wireless networks, firewalls, remote and site-to-site access VPNs, network management software and cable plant solutions
Working knowledge of best practices relating to network design and implementation including network protocols, subnetting, DNS, and DHCP
Experience with network troubleshooting and performance analysis tools
Experience with VLAN configuration, SNMP, and NetFlow
Experience with wireless data technology and Aruba wireless products
Excellent customer service, communication and team work skills
Technical proficiency in Windows operating systems required
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and orally to provide support and documentation

Additional Information:
This is Permanent, salaried, employment, located in Charlotte.
Must be able to regularly move and lift computer equipment including laptops, desktops systems, routers, switches, and controllers which could weigh 10-20 pounds.
This is an offic environment
Position requires availability to work hours to accommodate support needs within a 24/7 IT environment.

Candidates local to Charlotte preferred, as in person interviews will be required.
