Position: OB/GYN Physician Salary: $200,000 - $232,000 (Includes Incentive) Additional Compensation: Government pays 70% of Federal Benefits' Premium and has a 5% matching Retirement Savings Program Description: Full-time, Permanent, Federal Civilian Employment Location: Irwin Army Community Hospital Fort Riley, Kansas Description: Irwin Army Community Hospital (IACH) is searching for a full-time OB/GYN to independently manage and provide comprehensive primary health care to essentially normal cases for expecting mothers and newborn babies throughout the maternity cycle. This provider will manage, on average, 75 births and 2150 total clinic encounters per month. Duties will include but are not limited to: Care for newborns in the initial neonatal period. Provide for medical consultation or referral for those women or newborns with significant deviations from normal. Provides individual, family, and group education about obstetrical processes, associated disease states and diagnostic tests. Counsels patients and their families on prevention of illness and maintenance of health in an effort to assist them in attaining physical, mental and social well being. Completes routine obstetrical and maternal diagnostic testing, i.e. NST, BPP, CRL and AFI. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in order to make a clinical diagnosis regarding physical, emotional or social disabilities. Provides in-house assigned coverage for labor and delivery to include admission, management, delivery and emergency care for obstetric patients. IACH is currently a 44-bed inpatient hospital with over 25 outpatient clinics. We service a patient population of about 63,000 Active Duty Soldiers, Family Members and Retirees in the area. We have a 16-bed Women s Health Center for all LD and postpartum care, and a newly remodeled OB/GYN Clinic with 8 exam rooms. We are staffed by a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of OB/GYN physicians and surgeons, Midwifes, Women s Health Nurse Practitioners and a variety of nursing and support staff. In 2009 the Department of Defense approved IACH for the funding for a new $404 million, 550,000 square foot facility. It will be completed in 2013. This new hospital will be increased to a 52-bed facility, which includes a new, 8-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. IACH is located at Fort Riley, which is nestled in the rolling, Flint Hills of Kansas, between the communities of Junction City and Manhattan. Manhattan is home to a major, Division One college, Kansas State University. Within a short, two hour drive are the major cities of Wichita and Kansas City, located to the south and east, respectively.
