Job Description

Senior Java Developer - Financial Models Freddie MacMcLean, VAWe currently seek a Senior Java Developer - Financial Models who will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting systems within the financial modeling and research area. Designing and developing new code and reviewing existing code changes to ensure standard technology development practices are met. This position may supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees, but will not typically have formal management role.Additional responsibilities include - Leading the day-to-day operational execution of software solutions to assist with the monitoring and control of market and credit risks- Assisting with application development and modifying and or maintaining applications- Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages- Assisting other areas of financial research and engineering when defining requirements for systems applicationsCandidates will have the following qualifications - College Degree in Computer Science or related discipline advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred- More than 5 years of experience in hands-on software development, testing, delivery operations involving hand off to external groups is essential- Excellent knowledge in Java 1.5 1.6 1.7, Java Swing Flex Java, FX GUI Interface- Good knowledge of Sybase DB2 SQL JDBC, Ant, UNIX Shell, CVS- Finance specifically fixed income products preferred- Perl Python Awk preferred- C C++ preferred- DataSynapse Grid computing preferred- Maven , Tomcat , MyBatis preferred- Remedy preferred At Freddie Mac, you ll have a rewarding career as you play a role in keeping the mortgage markets open and helping the nation recover from the housing and economic crisis.
