Student applicants, if they have any OTR experience at all, should be less than three months. Trainee applicants must have 3-5 months verifiable OTR driving experience within the last 12 months and must have graduated from an approved TDS within the last 12 months. Trainee applicants must complete up to 2 weeks in cab training with a designated driver trainer. DOT requires that the applicant must be at least 21 years of age. Student/Trainee applicants must have no felony convictions. No misdemeanor convictions for assault/battery/domestic violence/theft/forgery are allowed. No DWI/DUI and Open Container convictions within the past 7 years. Must have a current CDL license. Must pass DOT physical and drug screen. High School or equivalent education level PREFERRED. Must have no more than 4 jobs in the last 3 years. No more than 1 conviction for moving violation within the last year. No more than 3 convictions for moving violations within the last 3 years. No serious moving violation in the last 3 years- serious violations would be excessive speeding, 15 or more over, careless/reckless driving, following too closely, and/or unsafe lane change. No preventable accidents or incidents within the last 12 months. No more than 1 preventable accident or incident within the last 13-36 months- serious accidents would be rollover or overturns, rear end, lane change, head on, and/or intersection.
