Opportunity Profile: The Global BI Architect serves as a Global Business Intelligence (BI) Architect within the Global IT Applications and Services department. This senior position will be responsible for both business and technical aspects of an overall BI best practice strategy and can be based in Basking Ridge, NJ; Canonsburg, PA; or Morgantown, WV.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Provide guidance on the use of SAP standard BI content (where possible) to satisfy business requirements or enhance / customize where necessary.
Provide guidance and participate in the enhancement of BI/BW development standards while adhering to department policies, methodologies, standards, and guidelines.
Assist those executing BI/BW implementations across the globe with expert guidance and solution delivery.
Determine and develop architectural strategies, roadmaps, approaches, and solutions.
Lead efforts to architect complex data management solutions, coordinating with all necessary subject matter experts with limited supervision.
Proactively and effectively communicate potential problems, recommended solutions, and progress.
Making presentations to project teams, senior management, and executives.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE
Must possess thorough knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts as related to Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics and Large Scale Data Management. 10+ years experience in information systems and project management. 5+ years managing and developing enterprise architectures on a global scale. 7+ years in working on large scale business transformation programs. 5+ years experience in managing cross functional business teams is preferred. Experience in developing and facilitating a data governance model. Knowledge of ERP solutions (SAP+), Business Process Management, Data Management, and EAI. Functional knowledge in key areas (e.g., finance, sales and distribution, supply chain management, customer relationship management, quality, manufacturing). Knowledge of process excellence (e.g., Six Sigma, LEAN) is a plus. Management experience in global, distributed information services organizations is a plus. Professional certification(s) in Enterprise Applications and / or project management is a plus. Must possess an understanding of information architecture as it relates to the overall business objectives, as well as the high-level technical architecture. Good knowledge with SAP's BI data warehousing and reporting architectures. Knowledge of industry standards for models, and where appropriate, incorporate them into Mylan's architecture standards.

Requires strong individual contributor, management and leadership skills. Must have strong facilitation and presentation skills and therefore requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to quickly and effectively resolve conflicts and/or issues. Must have the ability to read, create and understand Mylan SOPs. Must have the ability to keep current on FDA regulations. Must possess the ability to enforce standards set forth by Mylan and the FDA. The ability to work at the senior / strategic level to educate and explain how the BI architecture supports the overall needs of the organization, and also the ability to work in the details of directing or performing the design, development, and implementation of data models for enterprise-level applications and systems.
The ability to work as an advocate for Mylan data modeling methodologies and business intelligence best practices, promoting data as a corporate asset and representing the 'value of data' to business users as related to strategic decision.
The ability to produce data flow diagrams as needed in support of strategic initiatives and guide the evolution of systems towards desired enterprise models.
The ability to lead efforts with internal customers to analyze and translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and data models.
SUPERVISION
Position functions with limited supervision. Maintains contact primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, end-users, and other professionals in the section or group, locally and internationally.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in Information Technology or other related field required. A highly experienced IT professional with experience in technical architecture and business. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts. Ability to present to a group of departments.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply business concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, and volume to practical situations. Ability to apply mathematical operations and algorithms to business situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically sitting at a desk or table. Intermittently sitting, standing, walking or stooping.
