Structural Superintendent ��" Ship Building


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Oversees the implementation of all production schedules, monitoring and maintenance of schedules in conjunction with Foremen.
-Oversees adherence to cost budgets, both vessel specific and overhead for department.
-Leads by example in identifying and implementing Lean improvement and Root Cause analyses and insuring Foremen and Supervisors are actively involved.
-Leads Team with ethics, integrity and equality.
-Oversees liaising with and directing outside contractors
-Oversees the maintenance of safe working practices and good housekeeping in all areas and ensures Austal�� s policies are being followed
-Provide constant feedback to Foreman regarding: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale
-Provides motivation, maintains morale and minimizes confrontation
-Maintain succession plan. Identify Key personnel and implement training programs

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-10+ years of shipbuilding experience
-US Citizenship
-Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
-Knowledge of Lean Methods and experience implementing these methods
-Excellent people and resource management skills
-Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to lift 20lbs on a frequent basis; ability to lift up to 75lbs on an occasional basis


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Experienced in the construction of high speed aluminum vessels is advantageous but not a requirement
-Experience in design and construction of US Navy vessels is advantageous but not a requirement
-Experience with wInsight and Primavera (P6, P7) is advantageous but not a requirement
