MANAGER, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING

Candidate will manage new product development software engineering activities for Cisco set-top products. Position requires experience in project management for software products. Background in video technology and web technologies is strongly preferred. Responsibilities include:
(1) Plan and maintain software development project schedules; (2) Communicate project status to upper management;(3) Represent Cisco technical team with customers and development partners;(4) Build collaborative team environment;(5) Foster employee career developmentCandidate should have knowledge of industry and market trends, Digital Cable TV technology, IP Technology, UPnP, DLNA, DRM, MPEGTS, and MP4. Candidate shall have a solid knowledge of software development methodology and Linux software design concepts. Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to successfully influence win-win cross-functional dynamics, to resolve conflicts through creative solutions and fostering team communications. Skills Required / Minimum Years of Experience:
Strong project management and team building skills Good verbal and written communication skills 10+ years of industry experience required in embedded software development and/or web browser technology. Experience in set-top development is preferred.BSEE/CS plus 10+ years of industry experience required.MSEE/CS plus 8+ years of industry experience required.
