Essential Job Function:
Managing Consultant helps key customers think through and define their IT strategy and resulting requirements. He builds plans and directs implementation of the solution. Managing Consultant leads major customer engagements leveraging full range of majors disciplines:
Business value justification, Business Case modeling Solution architecture & Integration, Business/IT process, IT governance, Operations management, Change management.Managing Consultant is able to lead Program Management Office / Architecture Office, developing and securing execution of customer s transformation plan ; ensuring timely decisions from senior management team.Managing Consultant creates and delivers innovative solutions that increase awareness, generate leads, strengthen customer relationships and build sales opportunities. Solutions might include infrastructure, architecture components, process change, governance and industry standard delivery methods that will be used to enact the solution delivery. Managing Consultant engages and directs Consultants & Subject Matter Experts as needed. Managing Consultant can gain a high level of influence and relationships with key members of the customer s team and may act in the role of executive advisor in that regard. Managing Consultant develops strategies and key account plans to support solutions selling opportunities. Manages consulting engagements and customer accounts including large, multiple activity engagements that require more program management level activities.Managing Consultant works with vertical industry lead to develop competitive strategy and positioning. Managing Consultant works cross-functionally within Cisco to drive increased Solution Led Selling.Managing Consultant establishes and maintains partner landscapes and establishes necessary partnerships for implementing solutions.Managing Consultant demonstrates with relevant experience ability and ambition to embrace future challenges of Principal Consultant missions / engagements.Knowledge and Skills:
Managing Consultant has successfully managed large projects / complex engagementsSome relevant Vertical Industry experience is applied.Managing Consultant has pro-actively demonstrated traction on Business development:
identifying & selling up sell opportunities / developing new opportunitiesManaging Consultant communicates effectively; strong written and oral skills. Above average presentation skills. Strong Customer facing experience.Applies strong vertical industry expertise (at least one Vertical) in helping customers solve problems. He works with senior business/IT executives to unleash the business value of solutions.Strong leadership skills are needed.May resolves cross-organization process issues.Must demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate people across both Cisco and client constituencies to successfully meet the high demands of Cisco s professional services consulting organization. Can work with a customer to assist identification of the customer challenges and facilitate IT strategy to meet requirements. Can then provide a complete solution for a large enterprise and of high complexity. Managing Consultant is Strong in Project management skills including planning, reporting, directing / coordinating the work of others. Can direct other organization professionals to ensure collaboration and synergies across the team. Can lead multi-company, cross-functional/technical teams and organizations. Managing Consultant is strong on at least 2 of the 3 major Architecture plays in Cisco:
Data Center, Unified Communications & Borderless Network and is comfortable on the thirdManaging Consultant is strong on at least 1 of the 3 Consulting Delivery Areas:
Bus. Value Justification, Solution Architecture, Business Process and is good on the othersImpact/Leadership:
Clearly demonstrates thought leadership in tackling multiple, complex issues to create effective and lasting solutions content. Generates leads & works as key contributor / influencer in gaining customer agreement.Communicates persuasively. Excellent presentation skills. Customer influence and relationship building skills beyond the single engagement. Experienced track record working with senior (CxO) managers of Global companies.

Actively mentors junior team members and seeks opportunities to enhance team capabilities through enabling the mentoring of virtual team members. Education/Experiece:
Requires a technical or business undergraduate degree (or equivalent). MS or MBA strongly preferred. Requires 11-15 years working experience in a combination of IT consulting / systems integration, IT management / senior staff roles, and high tech industry roles. Requires a track record of responsibility for managing multiple programs and/or medium to large functional teams. Experience in CIO/CTO functional areas required:
roles contributing towards addressing enterprise wide challenges.Track record of collaboration with other functional areas such as finance, legal and risk functions and the roles they play in realizing change within complex stakeholder environments.
