Solutions Marketing Manager, Data Center and Switching MarketingThis position is for a Marketing Manager with strong marketing skills and a good background in servers and internetworking. Exposure to Layer 2/3 switching, server technologies, virtualization and cloud computing concepts is highly desired. Candidates must have at least 10+ years of experience with product, systems and/or solution marketing with at least 3 years as a team lead. Ideal applicants should embody the C-LEAD concepts, and be able to function in a dynamic, matrixed environment with a penchant for converting strategy into strong execution. A bachelor's degree in Engineering with a Masters in Business Administration is preferred.Cisco is seeking a Solutions Marketing Manager to drive messaging, content and sales tools in support of Cisco s Unified Data Center campaign. The successful candidate will create and evangelize simple, compelling, differentiated messages and create content increasing our internal and external customers awareness, preference, excitement and knowledge on the Unified Data Center platform.The successful candidate will be responsible for message creation and evangelization of the Unified Data Center. This will include the creation of content focusing on a variety of different decision makers in the data center environment, such as executive audiences as IT architect, CIO, and VP with business-level content, and more technology, pain-point solution content for more technically-focused audiences. This candidate will work with the extended marketing communications (including AR, PR, corporate communications, and event marketing), field and channel marketing and sales teams to ensure consistent delivery of the message. Primary Duties / Responsibilities Responsible for marketing message and marketing plans supporting Unified Data Center to worldwide Cisco and partner field, enterprise and service provider customers, press, analysts and communities of interest. Create technical and business content relevant to customer careabouts and pain points based on a thorough understanding of the market conditions, customer decision drivers, and competitive dynamics. Work with key ecosystem partners (such as EMC, NetApp, VCE, VMware) in integrating our messaging into their campaigns and activities where appropriate. Be an expert in server, network and virtualization technologies and be able to explain them to a business-level audience. Work with cross-functional team to define the go-to-market requirements for the Unified Data Center program, influencing advertising, creative directions, demand generation, event strategy and social media. Create and leverage interesting assets (papers, presentations, multi-media, blogs, webcasts) into events, web properties, demand generation, content syndication and joint marketing activities with ecosystem partners. Work with the virtual team to manage storefront assets and ensure best usage. Develop content to amplify key proof points to the market about Unified Data Center, including economic and technology benefits. Work with the customer reference team to continue to refine references to highlight business benefits. Become a voice within Cisco for the Unified Data Center and showcase key proof points Work with the product management, product marketing and field readiness teams to develop sales tools and enablement.Required Competencies Ten years experience with expertise in marketing server, networking and virtualization technologies, providing subject matter expertise and cross-functional leadership Demonstrated ability to build and implement marketing messaging and strategy, with an actionable plan that includes customer intelligence, opportunity identification, use-case mapping to products and solutions, and competitive differentiation. You have strong writing and presentation skills; ability to create collateral or presentations that are clearly written and succinct; ability to create graphical representation of complex concepts; comfortable presenting to large audiences Experience creating and driving marketing activities, including events, demand generation, store-front marketing, asset creation and field marketing around a range of products, services and verticals. Ability to work cross-functionally, serving as program lead for marketing activities and messaging exercises, build strong relationships with senior management and throughout the value chain, working collaboratively to achieve goals. Ability to strategically influence, leverage and partner with worldwide marketing tams to execute plan, gather feedback and measure results.
