The mobile gaming industry is exploding. Consumer spending will top $7B globally this year and is expected to double by 2014. The introduction of the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices has created unprecedented access to consumers and created a massive new crop of engaged gamers. Free to play mobile games now dominate the top charts on Apple and Android as micro transactions and in-game economies have successfully migrated from Facebook to the mobile platform. Simultaneously, the international market is growing at a rapid pace as games are localized to reach new and emerging markets including China, Brazil, and Korea.
_THE POSITION_
EA is looking for a mobile-focused member of our central "Core" PM team which helps service and support the company's 20+ mobile development teams to define, market, and upkeep their mobile social gaming portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Core Product Management, the Core Product Manager for mobile is the thought leader for mobile best practices and is responsible for working with each producer/product manager team to improve their games. This includes consulting with game teams on feature roadmaps, collecting and advocating best practices, and assisting with economy design, and analytics support for freemium games from creation to launch to live maintenance. This is a creative, consultative, and metrics-driven role crucial to helping studio teams deliver engaging and viral games that are fun, iconic, and meet the company's aggressive revenue goals.
_RESPONSIBILITIES_
? Work closely with game producers and product managers to provide product economy analysis, revenue optimization, feature recommendations, and on-going live support for our games
? Leverage analytics and quantitative analysis to monitor game performance, tune mechanics, and identify new features to improve user conversion, retention, and monetization
? Catalogue and promote best practices and outcomes between mobile game teams
? Coordinate closely with marketing, creative, and franchise teams to promote titles both in-game and externally to optimize response/ROI
QUALIFICATIONS
? BS/BA degree, MS/MA/MBA preferred
* Experience as a product manager for a mobile game or app company
* Background in management consulting, banking, software engineering or other quantitative disciplines is highly valued
* Strong analytic skills and facility with excel. Experience with Business Intelligence software (Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.) is a plus
* Understanding of free-to-play game mechanics, social and mobile gaming platforms, and industry trends
* Passion for gaming.
