Job Description

Account Relations ManagerGENERAL SUMMARY--Responsible for account relations within existing accounts. Works directly with clients within the organization and with outside parties to implement operational business requirements in new accounts. Accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating and conducting information gathering; structured documentation and presentation of findings. Accountable for achieving established company defined goals.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES--Develops and implements annual account management plan for each assigned account(s) within specified format guidelines. Plan should provide sufficient detail to direct daily activity and measure success rates.--Develops relationships with clients; employees; employers; and/or Third Party Administrators; to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.--Uses knowledge in research and design to assist in constructing parameters in performance measurement consistent with the company?s strategic direction. This may include reconciling relevant databases to assure consistency; tracking down data gaps and/or reviewing contract requirements.--Responds to all client requests for information and directs client inquiries to appropriate departments. Manages overall client relationship and coordinates client relationships with other Coventry departments.--May work with sales staff to plan and participate in on-site presentations to new and existing clients.--May work with clients to identify employee educational brochures and with marketing to create educational materials.--Performs other duties as required.JOB SPECIFICATIONS--Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience. Master?s degree preferred.--Significant experience (usually 3-5 years) in managed care required.--Thorough understanding of managed care principles and account management process.--Demonstrated track record of success in account management.--Excellent interpersonal; negotiation and communication skills; 100% ethical sales approach; motivated by desire to please customer.--Strong problem-solving abilities.--Extensive knowledge of health care business and care delivery processes preferred.Coventry Health Care is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer; and we are committed to building a talented and diverse team.
