JOB DESCRIPTIONCypress, CA: Insurance provider for retail clerks company is looking to hire 10 Open Enrollment Clerks.
Position will start end of Oct and go through the middle of February
Duties and Responsibilities: Process participants / dependents on the database according to Fund rules. Confirm spouse Medicare status as applicable and process as required by Medicare and HMO guidelines. Confirm deduction authorization is submitted and signed. Check for possible dual coverage when a family member is listed as working in the industry and conform database information when dual coverage applies. Process enrollments, dis-enrollments, and plan changes, per Medicare and HMO guidelines, and Plan rules. Update database for changes of marital and dependents' status, as well as other indicative data. Process participants in the database who have been rehired or transferred from other Funds or management. Compare and update system information from enrollment forms received. Verify all month-count and grad-count participants to ensure current status is correct. Set up weekly/monthly contributions to premium and process premium reimbursements. Set up the eligibility file for the surviving spouse after the death of a Participant. Confirm Medicare eligibility for member and dependents according to Medicare guidelines. Process SSA Notice of Award and update who require retroactive eligibility. Confirm member/spouse eligibility. Review contributions to premium reports daily; reconcile and refund over payments. Request missing documentation (ex. birth certificate, marriage certificate / dissolutions). Annotate documents processed on the Imaging system as necessary when additional information is needed. Process HMO election forms, information, and adjustments in the database, and notify HMOs of changes in eligibility for Medicare-eligible and non-eligible participants. Research HMO problems; consult with HMO representatives to resolve enrollment / eligibility issues. Provide customer service to participants by telephone and in-person here at the Fund office. Process enrollment forms for participants. Process reports from the Fund, HMOs and Medicare (RDS/CMS).
'Knowledgeable regarding Plan rules for enrollment 'Demonstrated ability to positively and appropriately interact with Participants in various emotional states, both on the phone and in person, professionally and effectively 'Proficient in using Outlook, Word, and Excel, with proficiency in manipulating spreadsheets 'Detail-oriented, conscientious and skilled at working and prioritizing in multi-task environment. 'Solid math skills and reconciliation ability 'Ability to speak, as well as read and write emails and letters, at a fully acceptable level of English, from the standpoint of a professional business environment.
