Stanton and Long Beach, CA Are you interested in making a difference in people?s lives? If so, this is a great opportunity for the right individual. This well known Company converts vehicles for the handicap (ramps, sterling wheels, gas pedals, etc) is looking to hire a Service technician for their Stanton and Long Beach location. The primary purpose of the mobility vehicle service technician is to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain mobility conversion vehicles having either a ramp or lift suitable for wheelchair use. The mobility vehicle service technician must ensure that these additional features perform to specifications for the convenience and safety of the customer. Essential Functions: Accurate and efficient diagnosis of the conversion vehicle service- or repair-related issue based on customer?s description of the problem. Determining best course of action to repair or resolve the problem and meet the needs of the customer. ? Completing quality repairs, installations and upkeep of converted vehicles. ? Documenting repairs performed on each vehicle, from diagnosis to service. Maintaining comprehensive conversion-vehicle knowledge base and staying current with frequent changes and advancements to better service the vehicles. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to interact compassionately with clients with mobility challenges. Willingness to learn the mobility industry and the different needs of disabled individuals. Ability to work in a changing environment in which the work to be performed may be different every day. Knowledge of or willingness to learn the specifics of converted vehicles and an understanding of their engineering. Ability to adapt to changing technology and repair techniques. Ability to communicate in written and verbal forms. Ability to solve problems with patience and persistence. Detail oriented with superb analytical skills. Work Environment The service technician will be working indoors in a well-vented and well-lighted repair shop. Occasional noise due to the use of power and machine tools. Frequently work with dirty, grimy and/or greasy parts and in awkward positions. Frequently move heavy parts/machinery up to 30 pounds.

Education and Experience Certification in engine, diesel or motorcycle technology from a certified technical institute with emphasis in DSO-1 service procedures, DSO-2 electrical diagnosis and repair/accessory installation and service department operations. Minimum requirements include GPA equal to 3.70, 100% attendance record, minimum 1,500 total clock hours. Ongoing industry training is provided.
