Job Description

ENSCO's Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs, develops and manufactures precision, high speed, real-time track inspection systems for the national and international railway market. We are presently seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our engineering staff and work with other software, electrical and signal processing engineers in the development and support of our inertial and optical based data acquisition and analysis products.
Responsibilities will include:

- Perform system design, integration and testing for the development of real-time track inspection systems
- Develop detailed track inspection systems technical specifications
- Provide accurate time estimates of all phases of the track inspection system design and development process
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for internal and customer use
- Support existing products through electrical and software changes, improvements, testing and release
This position may involve access to technology or technical data that is controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations and the release of which to a foreign national may require an export license from the U.S. Government. Qualification Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of design experience developing real-time data acquisition systems for optical and inertial sensors
- Proven record of successful design and implementation of highly integrated, multidisciplinary technology based systems
- High proficiency developing real-time software applications using C++
- High proficiency modeling system performance and response
- Ability to perform system research, design and analysis functions with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway cars
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Railway regulations require that the selected candidate must pass an e-RAILSAFE security background check and safety tests to work on railroad properties. Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eyewear) when working railroad properties is also a requirement. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment. Qualification Desired
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience programming with MATLAB and LabVIEW software
- Circuit design experience
- Image processing experience
