This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in San Diego, CA \(Rancho Carmel facility\)\.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Avionics and Tactical Networks \(ATN\) group, an operating unit within the Communications business unit of our Mission Systems Sector\.We deliver complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions\. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications\. As part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the 'equipment providers\.'Our team of communication systems experts is developing next\-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device \(IED\) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way\.

* Roles and Responsibilities
*
* We are looking for candidates with software engineer experience to design, code, unit test, and support integration and documentation needs for next generation software\-defined radios\.Responsibilities span the entire development cycle from requirements specification, design, code and unit test to software/hardware integration and test\. The work involves large, complex, multi\-processor, multi\-threaded real\-time applications on embedded systems in a SEI CMMI Level 5 process environment\.

* A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria\. The candidate must:

* + Be completing or has completed their degree \(Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD\) from an accredited institution; It must be no more than 1 year if the degree has already been obtained+ Not have professional work experience in their field of study \(excluding internships, co\-ops, or research studies\)+ Be majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering+ Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3\.25/4\.0 or higher \(unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile\)+ Be able to obtain a U\.S\. Government security clearance \(U\.S\. citizenship is apre\-requisite\)+ Experience with Microsoft Office \(e\.g\., Word, Excel, Powerpoint\)+ C or Java software development experience+ Object Oriented experience+ Courses and course project experience in embedded development

* + Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3\.70/4\.0 or higher+ Previous internship/co\-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities \(professional/community/extracurricular\)+ Good presentation and writing/communication skills+ Self\-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment+ Proficiency with test equipment \(e\.g\. signal generators, scopes, analyzers, power meters\)\.+ Experience with real time embedded systems
