Job Description:
Must have Cosmetology license and currently working in a salon setting.

Stylists will be screened on:
. Technical Ability: washing, blow drying, cutting, styling and color ability. Ability to categorize hair types (damage level, curl pattern etc), can follow a hair care protocol
. Qualitative Evaluation: ability to assess two products at once, ability to use hair language to articulate product performance
. Creativeness: think about new product forms, build on current market products, personal creativity

Credentials:
. A confident hair expert with greater than 5 years' professional experience in hair care, styling and color.
. Leadership experience; overseeing and mentoring other stylists
. Knowledgeable about hair science (hair types, hair evaluation, hair and product interaction)
. and current market products
. Confidently conducts hair evaluation on diverse hair types and damage levels
. Creative and curious team player. Has a passion for understanding how hair products work and how to make them better.
. Enjoys all things beauty (blogs, magazines, fashion, art), experiencing new things
. Must have experience on diverse hair types.

Duties:
Leadership:
. Oversee training stylists and maintaining stylists calibration
. Ensure that stylists are following correct protocols.
. In-touch with emerging trends and styling techniques. Able to envision and articulate the evolution of hair care needs into the future
. Assist with setting up daily studies, product placement. Ensuring that stations are adequately setup with styling tools and products for study.
. Double check stylists work as needed
. Ensure that salon meets sanitation requirements
. Create a learning environment for stylists
. Maintain client database: habits and practices, hair length, hair types etc.

Sensorial/ Technical:
. Assists with method development- standardizing protocols, creating new protocols as project demands change
. Ability to identify reference products that span an entire attribute
. Confidently assess diverse hair types and hair switches
. Driving qualitative understanding through product usage/experience
. Experienced and articulate in talking about the hair user experience, hair products, and hair science
. Passionate to try new hair products and curiosity about how hair products work
. Follow standardized hair protocols including : protocol for hair care and styling, evaluation of hair care products across all touchpoints, objective assessment independent of liking or preference.
