Job Description
Will Statement Will: Be a Student Intern in the JPL Summer Program working full time in a specified engineering group. Will be provided with hands-on work experience in the application of conceptual and theoretic curriculum within Engineering. Will be responsible for performing routine job functions and activities within assigned engineering group.•Assists Scientists and Engineers with work assignments providing technical support in developing, building, testing and delivering technical products, protocols and processes. May perform research and development. Applies engineering theoretical principles and analytical techniques for evaluation and solution of problems.•Assists with the maintenance, status, analysis, and reporting of assigned project schedules and associated metrics.•Works on day-to-day assignments under direct supervision; receives detailed instructions on new assignments.•Uses applicable policies, procedures and practices as guides to determine work methods and deliver results.•Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.•Interacts primarily with immediate supervisor and team members within own organization.This is a temporary non-benefit based summer position. Final career level placement is based on your current level at school. Skills Required Skills:•Must be enrolled at least half-time at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors degree or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics or other related engineering discipline. •Minimum GPA 3.0.•Must be available to work full time during the summer for an 8-12 week assignment.Has some familiarity in one or more of the following areas: Design, development and test of hardware and software, telecommunications, systems engineering, electronics and integration and test.•Recently completed coursework with exposure to standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in Engineering design and development.•Knowledge and experience with MS Office.•Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.•US Citizen or Legal Permanent ResidentDesired Skills:•Prior internship experience in related engineering disciplines.•Participation in student organizations.•Completion of at least one year of college.
