ACDM RESEARCH ASSISTANT I - BENCH

JOB SUMMARY Research Assistant I to provide technical support for animal related laboratory based research. Support may include bench techniques, work with laboratory animals, record keeping, and data analysis. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under direction of the Principal Investigator, Laboratory Manager or Director, or senior laboratory staff this position may include:
Animal handling, which may include tail cutting, breeding, weaning, euthanasia, minor surgical procedures, and basic animal husbandry. Skilled at performing mice injections ' intravenous and subcutaneous routes Microbiology and molecular biology techniques including PCR, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, ELISA Isolation of different cells from animals and cell culture Microscope work and image analysis Write protocols and procedures Collection of tissue, blood or other biological specimens from mice Collect, record, compile and analyze data Take inventory and maintain mouse records Oversee equipment calibration, certification and maintenance agreements. Operates a variety of laboratory equipment Effectively utilizes computer systems, including office applications, and statistical or technical software. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AA with 5+ years experience Or BA/BS with no experience EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two years or less of related research experience preferred. Extensive training and experience in molecular biology, innate immune signaling, cell culture and/or animal techniques are required.
