Job Description

Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.

Hamilton Sundstrand's Air Management Systems (AMS) organization has an immediate opening for a Facility Test Manager. The selected incumbent will lead a group of engineers who support all phases of Air Management Systems testing. Applicants must have systems background including a mix of mechanical, electrical and data acquisition system knowledge.

The primary goal of the Facility Test group is to continuously improve Air Management Systems (AMS) component and system test processes. The strategy for continuous improvement involves standardizing AMS test processes using ACE tools across all programs. The Facility Test group' customers include all AMS Program Groups, Systems and Component groups.

Position requires the use of Project management tools (and experience) to ensure that all test plan steps are performed correctly one time and within schedule. AMS's Facility Test group works with each Program' project organization to assist with definition of test requirements, test planning, execution and reporting. This support includes development and qualification testing. Members of this team serve as a liaison between Programs and both internal and external test facilities.

Assist with facility planning including determining capital needs and coordinate the design and fabrication of new data acquisition systems and test facilities. Provide liaison with Contractors and HS/UTC's Engineering Labs in designing and implementing capital improvements to test facilities. Coordinate outsource testing when internal facilities are not available to support program schedules.

BSME or BSEE (MBA preferred)

8 / 10 + years of experience in an engineering and/or aerospace operations test environment. Experience should include supervisory/managerial experience.

Experience working in an matrix organizational structure. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to apply ACE, 6 Sigma, and/or lean manufacturing/quality principles to optimize organizational performance and delivery.

Travel: Primary job responsibilities/focus are primarily based in Windsor Locks. CT. Occasional travel to outsource test houses is required.
