JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary:
Serve as an internal human resources partner to develop and recommend staffing strategies, proactively identify candidates, and assemble a diverse pipeline of talent for SwRI's non-exempt positions; respond to inquiries pertaining to recruitment/staffing or business related policies; perform full cycle recruitment activities to include development of job descriptions, posting requisitions, searching resume databases, conducting interviews, negotiating salaries, on-boarding; process employment applications and interact with Institute management and staff to provide guidance and insight on staffing issues or other related HR issues; coordinate and conduct pre-employment interviews and provide feedback to hiring managers and support SwRI's on-boarding orientation program; coordinate and develop the Student Internship Program facilitating student social events, coordinate temporary relocation and housing, facilitating networking opportunities, and ensure compliance with Student Program standards; other duties may be assigned as warranted.
Requires a BS degree in Human Resources or closely related field with coursework or 0-5 years experience in Human Resources. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Must be able to work effectively with people and advise management on issues related to employment law, federal contracting regulations, compensation, negotiation, and on-boarding; prefer experience in conducting interviews and knowledge of related employment laws associated with interviewing, knowledge of applicant screening criteria, and pre-employment screening tests; must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion; must be able communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; must be able to travel on business; must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well in a team environment; must be able to manage multiple priorities with strong follow through skills; must be willing to expand HR knowledge into other areas outside recruitment; knowledge of government contractor requirements is desired. PHR or SHRM-CP certification desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
