Commerce Bank is seeking a motivated and customer focused individual for a Account Manager I - Merchant opportunity. The Account Manager I - Merchant position is responsible for pro-actively working with Commerce Bank's merchant accounts to ensure account retention as well as to identify expansion opportunities to increase their clients' satisfaction with the bank while improving the overall revenue generated from their relationship. This position is not customer-facing but rather an inside Account Manager who will deal with an 'unassigned' portfolio that may be fluid and changing depending on the needs of the business.



Work Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)



Education: College degree preferred with an emphasis in business administration, accounting or finance, and a banking curriculum



Preferred applicants will have:

1-3 years of specific commercial card or merchant bankcard experience in the areas of sales, marketing and accounting, or other applicable banking experience

2 Years experience (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

2 Years business to business sales or client support experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Professional demeanor and appearance

Proven sales and/or needs analysis skills

PC exposure and experience in MS Access

Previous accounting, finance, general business, marketing or software sales experience

Contract negotiations experience

General knowledge of commercial or consumer credit
