Job Description

Account Manager, North East / Mid West Territory Position Objective The Account Manager position is a field sales position. The Account Manager manages sales processes in an assigned territory in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans. The Account Manager has an understanding of applications relating to the companies services and is able to communicate the relevant service benefits and value. This knowledge and appropriate sales skills are used to successfully promote the company and sell the companies services to achieve, or exceed the assigned territory sales plan. Essential Functions
- Consistently achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by applying selling skills to maintain existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and prospecting to develop new accounts.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships, at all levels within assigned accounts to influence purchasing decisions.
- Develop, maintain and execute a Strategic Business Plan for the assigned territory.
- Formulate and recommend pricing strategies for key accounts.
- Provide regular communications of successes, failures and best practices to management to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization.
- Daily communication with all clients through telephone, e-mail or personal visits to generate sales. Nature and Scope:
Capacity to manage budgets and execute sales and marketing plans. Strong analytical and business planning skills. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to many diverse customer audiences such as Economic Decision Makers and other influencers. Strong capabilities to interface effectively with all customer types. Ability to function effectively in a high performance team. Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Education:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Experience:
Requires a minimum 2 years experience as a Technical Sales Representative or equivalent related sales experience. Working knowledge of Cell Biology and Biotechnology is required. Knowledge of accounts in territory preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or like programs helpful. Working Conditions:
Travel as much as 40% may be required.
