JOB DESCRIPTION

Currently Weber Shandwick Technology is seeking an ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR/GROUP MANAGER LEVEL CANDIDATE (4-6 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE) with expertise in the technology space, with a focus on b2c clients/brands. We are looking for someone who has a unique cross-over of experience in technology/consumer/lifestyle media relations, developing and managing product reviews programs, counseling clients on media relations strategy, and account management. The following is a general outline of primary responsibilities.

Client Relations

* Communicate with clients on daily basis

* Provide strong client counsel

* Participate in client meetings and presentations

* Conduct and manage the flow of research necessary to analyze client issues

Media Relations

* Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments

* Help to track and maintain media placements

* Draft media relations materials

* Generate story ideas and topic angles

* Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client

* Maintain a strong network of existing relationships, with the ability to foster new relationships with key media and influencers

Product Reviews

* Define, develop and manage reviewers programs for consumer technology devices

* Identify new, emerging influencers for product reviews that will reach todays consumers

* Establish consistent processes for reviews across products and come up with new and creative ways to engage this audience

* Manage team of internal pre-reviewers (former journalists and industry analysts), as well as client product groups, to understand and translate technical product information into benefits and experiences for reviewers

Writing Skills

* Develop proposals, releases, customer profiles, bylined articles and other press materials

* Proof and edit client related documents as needed

* Compose and drive media strategy plans

Account/Team Management

* Manage a small team of 2-3 junior staff in the execution of client activity

* Educate fellow team members on best practice media strategies

* Ensure consistent delivery against client goals and priorities

* Work with senior staff to manage account budgeting and planning

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree

* 4-6 years of experience in PR/communications role with expertise in writing, plan development, media relations strategy and execution, event management, speaking and awards submissions, measurement, monitoring and social. Previous experience in product reviews program and establishing relationships with new influencers required

* 1-2 years management experience leading small groups and projects

Additional Qualifications:

* Computer proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

* Collaborative work style

* Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to juggle multiple client needs

* Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, work in a team and meet deadlines

* Strong measurement, monitoring and reporting experience, leading robust reporting programs for clients

* Strong understanding of start-up business environments preferred

* Ability to communicate information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing

* A high level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information

* A strong work ethic and an ability to be a self-starter
