Qualifications: Corporate Accounting is searching for a highly motivated individual with a demonstrated commitment to excellence to join its Commodity and Derivative Accounting Section. A successful candidate must have a Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field with a minimum of 2 years of accounting-related working experience. Strong analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills are required. Excellent computer skills, the ability to compile data into presentations and reports, and proficiency in MS Office products are required.

Knowledge of the Oracle ERP system, Allegro, and the ability to learn and use new computer systems a plus.CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of the Utilities derivative transactions in compliance with US GAAP, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and New York State Public Service Commission s regulations. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing journal entries for monthly closing and reporting, preparing related disclosures for the Company s 10K and 10Q filings, performing after-closing reconciliation and resolving all discrepancies, reviewing hedging contracts and transactions, preparing and maintaining proper hedge documentation, performing special projects and assignments as needed, etc. These responsibilities require effective interactions with colleagues, manager, customers, and auditors. The selected candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, as needed. Candidate is also responsible for compliance with all applicable corporate policies and for meeting deadlines. The candidate may be required to work overtime.

The selected candidate will be responsible to ensure compliance with Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed.

Valid driver s license and the ability and willingness to travel within the Company s service territory are required.
