Must have a demonstrated track record of team building and cultivation of direct reports for increasing responsibility. Prefer previous work experience in medium to large, top tier, research university environment.

Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) The Director of Operations (DO) reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) of Instructional Development and is a key member of the department's management team. The Director of Operations directs, analyzes and assesses the daily operations and support services that ID provides to the campus community, thereby contributing to the success of the campus in fulfilling its mission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing analysis to Executive Director regarding all aspects of ID operations. Coordinating operations among all major elements of ID including Instructional Consulting, Classroom Services and Production Services. Manages a specialized staff that is responsible for supporting faculty in delivering cutting edge instruction through a wide variety of media and technologies. Analyzes ID budget and performs cost-benefit studies on staffing, equipment, resource use, renovation projects, and other campus-wide initiatives involving ID. Oversees uses of information technology in classrooms and ensures the uses of information technology by ID remain consistent with current trends in education and business. Manages pilot projects for emerging educational technologies, coordinating with industry, college and administrative representatives. Coordinates with multiple campus agencies to ensure safety, policy compliance, scheduling oversight, and technical requirements in all instructional and event activities supported by ID. Serves as one of ID's representatives to campus and systemwide offices, agencies, and committees.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. At least five years of experience as a manager in an educational technology support organization.

Experience can be any of: direct classroom support; mixed classroom and online instructional support; mixed classroom and event support; instructional content development support (e.g. course content, learning activities, multimedia production)

Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills including the ability to to communicate effectively with faculty, staff employees and student employees. Must have significant experience in using spreadsheets and databases for generating usage reports, budget reports and budget projections.Must have a demonstrated track record of team building and cultivation of direct reports for increasing responsibility.

Desirable Requirements
Master's Degree in any field, but Educational Technology/Technical Theater/Video Production related fields preferable. Prefer previous work experience in medium to large, top tier, research university environment. Demonstrated effective project management experience.
